Assault Rifles in The Division are one of 6 types of Weapons the player can use. Assault Rifles lack the Accuracy of Marksman Rifles, but have improved RPM and are lethal at short to mid ranges with short, controlled bursts. They are not as effective at long range as the Marksman Rifles and do possess noticeable recoil that must be accounted for, especially at short range. They can be upgraded with Optics, Magazines, Underbarrels and Muzzles and you can change the Skin of the Weapon to customize its appearance.
